Maren Morris’ Mixtape Memoir:
Always Been A Girl’s Girl

Maren Morris grew up in the 90’s in Arlington, Texas, the daughter of hair salon owners. By the time she was 11 she got her first guitar and wrote her first song by age 12. It wasn't long before Maren brought her talents to the stage and spent her teenage years performing and developing her craft. Once Maren decided to take her dreams to Nashville - like so many artists before her - she set her sights on working on Music Row as a songwriter. We'll hear how in less than a year she accomplished that goal, but soon realized that her true path was as an artist. Since then Maren has released three albums - Hero in 2016, Girl in 2019, and this year Humble Quest. She has been Grammy nominated every year since 2017, racking up thirteen nominations and one win thus far. Maren also has five Academy of Country Music Awards, one American Music Award and five Country Music Association Awards to her name. An outspoken advocate for women and diversity in Country music and Americana, she teamed up with Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby and Amanda Shires as The Highwomen in 2019, releasing their self-titled debut that year. Hard to believe this has all happened for Maren in less than a decade. And it all began with a song.
